Ficus bonsai is an evergreen indoor plant that can give a unique touch wherever it is placed. Its trunk with the special "entanglement" it creates in combination with its small green and smooth textured leaves, make it a plant particularly dear to all of us.
Conditions
The Ficus bonsai should be placed in a place that provides it with abundant sunlight, but without it coming into direct contact with its leaves. This way it will give us rich greenery all year round. The ideal temperatures for our plant range from 17 to about 27oC, protecting it from the low winter temperatures.
Care
When the Ficus bonsai is in its growth period, i.e. during the summer months, then we need to provide it with more water than it will need in the winter months, when lower temperatures prevail. If we want to give our tree a denser shape, we can prune some of its old branches while also removing several of its leaves, thus enhancing its growth. In addition, it is good to apply liquid fertilizer for bonsai once a month every spring and autumn.
Health Tips
The Fig Bonsai is a very resistant plant without particular attacks from enemies and diseases. If it shows yellow leaves, check whether its soil has excess moisture and if necessary reduce watering. By providing it with the proper care, you will have a miniature tree decorating your home for many years.
