The gardenia is a particularly popular ornamental plant that stands out for its lovely white fragrant flowers and glossy leaves. There are many types of gardenia, whether shrubs or small seedlings, but the most well-known variety is the common gardenia that we all know as gardenia or jasmine (Gardenia jasminoides).
Originally from Asia and Africa, the gardenia is planted both in the garden and in a pot in the courtyard and balcony of most Greek homes.
The gardenia gives us abundant flowering in late spring, while it also has a second flowering in early autumn!
